My PM5 is displaying error code 50 or 54

Symptom: 

When I row or ski at a high stroke rate my monitor shows error code 50 or 54. 

Resolution: 

When starting a workout with quick, short strokes, the performance monitor may show error codes 50 or 54. This happens because the monitor needs the first 7 strokes to be consistent to set the drag and calibration for the workout. These errors mean you should adjust your technique, not that the monitor is broken.

For SkiErg users, starting with fast alternating arm movements can cause these errors or a prompt to use the Double Pole technique for calibration.

If these codes appear during a workout, especially during rest, it might be due to a firmware bug. Updating the firmware should fix this issue.
