My PM5 is displaying error code 2287

Symptom: 

My PM5 monitor is displaying error code 2287. 

Resolution:

The 2287 error code points at the cable that connects the PM5 to the generator. It's possible that the cable came loose on the generator side and is causing the error message. 

Please follow the steps below to check the connection of the cable:

1) Remove the cable from the PM5.

2) Use the assembly driver to remove the two screws that hold the generator cover in place. It is the rectangular plastic cover on the frame next to the flywheel. On the schematic it is part 2029 (see link if desired)

3) Remove the generator cover from the machine. The cover has a lip that goes under the flywheel housing, so it's easiest to pull up on the right side of the cover

4) Flip the cover over and you'll see two wires going into the sensor. Unplug the wire that's closest to the handlebars and plug it back in to ensure that the wire is firmly plugged in. There is not a clip holding the wire in place so get a decent grip on the little white end of the wire and pull.

5) Reassemble and plug the wire back in.
